CAPE FEAR VALLEY HEALTH, A 765-BED REGIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM IN FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA, IS SEEKING A

PACS/RIS SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

The candidate serves as liaison between Radiology and other departments and is responsible for the operational administration and network management of the RIS, PACS servers and workstations. This includes quality control, information management and monitoring, as well as user training, trouble-shooting, problem solving and security. This position serves as the Radiology Informatics expert and is one of the most knowledgeable of these hardware and software applications.

Bachelor's degree in related healthcare discipline or information systems preferred. Five years of experience in radiology informatics project management in a multi-facility healthcare system setting is desired. Advanced knowledge of hospital-based PACS and RIS applications, four to six years Radiology experience within a hospital setting and Certification with American Registry of Radiological Technologists preferred.

LEAD MAMMOGRAPHER (Danvers, MA Mammography)

Receiving direction from the Operations Manager and or Technical Manager, incumbent operates mammography equipment to make clinical diagnostic mammography films as directed by physician; must have the capability to perform routine diagnostic procedures with speed, accuracy, method and understanding of theory behind the same. Knowledge of MQSA, DPH, along with additional government regulations is required. Ability to focus on departmental process improvement give direction to staff as needed.

Responsibilities:
Adjusts equipment to correct setting for procedures, along with positions equipment.

Positions and instructs patients regarding the procedure.

Determines the proper voltage, current and desired exposure time and sets equipment.

Arranges, attaches or adjusts supportive devices to prevent the patient from moving and to aid in some comfort during localization.

Adjusts lead shields to protect unaffected parts from exposure to radiation.

Repeats exposure procedure from slightly different angles as pre-
scribed by physician and or radiologist.

Responsible for the complete image process, including transmission of images and verification of images on PACS.

Maintains records for quality assurance of all x-ray equipment and processors.

Responsible for all weekly Quality Control documentation and all other QA/QC requirements for MQSA, DPH, and other governmental regulations surrounding Mammography.

Job Duties may also include assisting other departments within Imaging when needed.

Ability to improve departmental processes & troubleshoot issues within the department.

Provide staff direction as needed.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, medical terminology.

Knowledge of the principles of radiation physics and radiographic chemistry.

Knowledge of radiographic positioning and radiographic equipment.

Knowledge of universal precautions.

Effective interpersonal and communications skills.

Ability to troubleshoot within the breast imaging suite.

Knowledge of governmental regulations, such as MQSA & DPH

Attention to detail.

Ability to provide compassionate care to patients.

Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.

Ability to lift over 5 lbs.

Must be able to read and write English.

Must possess the ability to assess patient specific data relative to age-specific needs and provide appropriate care.

*** 3+ years Mammography experience required.***

A minimum of an associate degree and successful completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Must be certified by the ARRT and must possess a valid license to practice as a radiologic technologist in Massachusetts. Must be certified in Mammography.

CPR Certification.
