Summer Exams

With summer in full force we have been seeing a number of musculoskeletal exams orders. Summer seems to be the perfect opportunity to schedule non-emergent exams for children in order to avoid missing school activities. During this busy time, we work to ensure that all our department stays on a tight schedule in order to provide excellent customer service to these patients that normally we would not see during the year--we see more "frequent flyers" during the school months, for example, our cancer patients. This takes a coordinated effort between our techs, nurses, registration, waiting room staff and physicians but it is worth the effort to get the patients in the scanner on time. Our customer service scores reflect this dedication to patient care--June's was 92.5.
