iMRI
Last week we performed our first interoperative MRI (iMRI) case. It was amazing! Preparing for this moment has been a long road--construction, installation of the magnet, creation of new safety guidelines/policies and staff education all took longer than expected. However, at the end of the day the system worked well and the patient and family benefited from this new technology. This week we had 5--yes 5--iMRI cases performed--Wow! It seems like this new technology is going to help more patients then originally anticipated during the initial planning stages almost two years ago. I personally would like to thank all the donors who contributed millions of dollars for the new iMRI suite--it is truely an wonderful gift.
