Children's fMRI Program
Last year, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's MRI department, in conjunction with the neurophysiology service line, began a functional MRI (fMRI) program. The program initially started as a research program and has developed into a full clinical program with numerous staff assisting with each scan. Personally, I think it is amazing to think what we can now do with MRI! With fMRI, we can map out the key parts of a patient's brain (speech, movement) in order to assist surgeons in the removal of brain tumors. Our work helps save the areas of the brain used in normal daily living. I'm very excited to be a part of this exciting time of technological advances that can improve children's lives.

For the fMRI what kind of techs do you use, techs only with MRI background or do you consider techs with CT & NM background as well?
