MRI Department in 2007

This year has been a whirlwind of excitement for the MRI department. No only did we get a brand new space, but we also added several pieces of new technology--3T MR system, functional MRI system and the interoperative MRI suite. I am so happy to work for a facility that looks toward the future and how new technology can benefit our patients. I have worked at other hospitals that were hesitant to spend millions of dollars on new technology due to the risk of not knowing how it would impact patient care, flow and revenue. However, Children's is different--they research new technology, discuss the benefits with our referring physicians then make brave decisions to move forward and develop new highly advanced programs. I'm really pleased with the strategic direction of the department.
