Something New Every Day!
Continuing into my second semester I am busy acquiring all my mandatory comps (as well as my first elective I acquired today-yeah, me!) However, I am curious if you bloggers struggle with the varying personalities at your clinic sites. My Radiology program gives the students the great opportunity to work in a new clinic site each semester (a total of five by the time we graduate). The technology varies from site to site, however, I have found more of a challenge (and reward) in adjusting to the personality conflicts and work ethic from site to site (the way techs handle difficult patients, the elderly, the injured, each other and of course students). This is definitely an aspect of the learning environment that I had not anticipated from the start but learn from everyday. Do you question a 'seasoned tech' when they are trying to rush you through taking a patient's history? Do you speak to a manager when a tech continually and knowingly puts through images that yourself can see are less than optimal? What struggles are you dealing with?
