the weekly source for radiology professionals

First Post

In what kind of setting do you practice? Describe what it's like working in that kind of setting.
As a recruiter I work in two different arenas. On one side of my role I work directly with health care facilities all across the U.S., aiding them in their search for qualified permanent radiology staff. I focus mainly on technologists and management for all modalities of radiology (i.e., nuclear medicine, radiology, ultrasound, radiation therapy...).

The second part of my position is to offer confidential free services to radiology professionals looking for new career opportunities. I help them search for new positions locally and nationally.

Working in this type of setting can definitely be a challenge, but the rewards I get from my work certainly outweigh the challenges. Jobs are a major component of a person's life, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to help the people who rely on me to locate a successful and rewarding job opportunity. It's also great to be able to help out some of the nations best hospitals. I know that the talent I am responsible for bringing to these hospitals is what helps them keep their reputations as some of the leading providers of healthcare treatments. I really enjoy talking to people and helping them solve their problems and give them sound advice.

How/why did I get into my field?
I got into this field because I wanted to get into a sales and marketing role where I could make a difference. Anyone who has any involvement in the healthcare field knows how in demand healthcare professionals are. Being a part of this and helping hospitals find excellent staff is a great personal reward for me. I also really enjoy technology, so learning about the latest and greatest in radiology technology is exciting for me.

What are my greatest professional accomplishments so far?
Working with some of the most prestigious hospitals and healthcare facilities is a great accomplishment for me. Also, being acknowledged by my company as being a top contributor for my division. But, I would say that one of the greatest accomplishments for me is each time I am successful finding someone a new job that they love and excel at.

What are my professional goals in the future?
My professional goals for the future are to keep building great relationships nationally and helping people find opportunities that they love! I would also like to travel more so that I can visit with the clients and candidates that I work with. In my profession, I do not get to meet a lot of the people that I work with which I would like to be doing more, so if you are ever in Minneapolis, look me up!

What are my greatest professional accomplishments so far?
As a recruiter, I love being able to assist people in their job searches and support them once they have been placed in a particular role. I feel that my greatest reward in this profession is receiving calls from clients and job seekers after a successful placement has been made and having them say, "Thank you." Oh, and working with some of the best healthcare institutions isn't bad either.

No John, sorry I do not have a relation to Paul Lauderbauch.

There are several variations of the last name Lauderbaugh so I am sure that there is a connection somewhere in my ancestry.

On a side note, I did run into a CFO who is related to my grandmothers side of the family. Small world.
