Our Favorite Pastimes!
Lets face it, sometimes work is hard. Really hard. It could be your boss getting you down; or the repetitive nature of your work; or just outright tough!
Well last night, as I was helping out a friend I thought, what would be a better way to start off this blog than to hear about what everyone likes to do outside of work.
Pastimes are important and they are excellent ways to relieve the stresses of work life. So here are two questions that I would love to hear answered from the readers of RT Image to learn more about you. I will even go first!
1. What is your favorite hobby, pastime, or activity you like to do to get your mind of work?
2. Within this activity, what has been your greatest accomplishment or satisfaction from this so far?
Here is my response:
1. One of my favorite things to do outside of work is to tinker, build, and fix things. Whether that be working on the car, doing odd chores around the house, building furniture, or helping others with their handy work.
2. I would say that one of my greatest accomplishments so far is something that I am currently doing. A good buddy of mine has decided to buy an old, worn down house and "flip" it and I have decided to help out with this.
Let me tell you, it has been a lot of hard work so far. I have hung doors, put up dry wall, torn down ceilings, hung cabinets, stripped hardwood floors... you name it, and I probably have done it. But the reward that I am getting out of it are great! Not only am I getting a few bucks thrown at me, but I am also sharing quality time with good friends, earning new things, and enjoying the feeling of a job well done.
Ok now it is your turn. I would love to hear about what you like to do for fun. It could be anything! Mowing the lawn, going out with friends, cooking, fishing, even under water basket weaving if you must!
I look forward to hearing from you!
Matthew

2. I got in 1400 miles last year of strictly road biking, and hope to increase that by this year's end. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun pastime, or to unload stress from work and family.
Just make sure you focus on the road!
The accomplishment, is that I have now traced my family back to the early 1600's in both England and Germany. It's amazing what you can find out when you just do a little digging
2. There is a great sense of community among surfers and we contribute time and energy to support a variety of good causes, both local and national. As a group we accomplish more than we can as individuals and I am proud of my involvement.
My greatest accomplishment in this is that my body returns to equilibrium!
