Radiology Professionals

Jorge A Casañas, MEd, RT(R)(CV)(QM)(ARRT)
Jorge A. Casañas, MEd, RT(R)(CV)(QM)(ARRT), is a registered and licensed radiologic technologist who has combined his educational background at Miami-Dade College-Medical Campus, department of radiology with his multi-modality practical experience at South Miami Hospital to become an exceptional educator and leader. He has worked at South Miami Hospital for more than 25 years. He started as a staff radiographer then transferred to interventional radiology where he worked for more than five years. Jorge is currently the imaging service supervisor. In addition, he has been an adjunct faculty for Miami-Dade College Medical Center Campus, radiology department for the past 11 years.
Trista A. Raymer, RT(R)(CT)(MR)
I work as the Team Leader in the MRI Department. We are a pediatric hospital caring for newborns to the age of 21. The work in a pediatric hospital can become chaotic due to difficult sedations, difficult IV starts, and children can be unpredictable. Staying on schedule rarely happens. I do enjoy working with the children, their parents and the nursing staff. My goal for the future is to continue learning the new advancements in MRI technology.
Kevin L. Rush, MHA, RT(R)(T)
It's always funny when you have to write these things about yourself ... but here goes: I have 14 years of experience as a radiation therapist, and I am currently serving as the Administrative Director of the Radiation Oncology Centers of Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, Ind. I have been in this position for approximately two-and-a-half years, and it has been exciting time. Shortly after my arrival in the beginning of 2005, we initiated and major overhaul of both centers by brining in new treatment machines capable of IMRT and IGRT, a new treatment planning system and a new record and verify system. Given that we’re a community hospital, it is quite amazing what we've been able to accomplish by implementing the latest technology. I am constantly witness to the fact, however, that no matter how great the technology, without wonderful folks to run it, the technology is useless. As the old commercial use to say: "In a world of technology, people make the difference."
Shane Stewart, RT(R)(MR)
Shane Stewart started his MRI career in adult facilities. But for the past seven years he has worked with pediatrics. Shane is the team leader in the MRI department at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at the Scottish Rite campus. He participates in research projects, routine clinical exams and administrative duties.

Staffing

Matthew M. Brown, RT(MR)(CT)(R), ARRT
Matthew Brown is employed at Franklin & Seidelmann Subspecialty Radiology in Cleveland, Ohio. He understands that technology is driving the radiology field to new advances on a daily basis. Matt is responsible for the RT Support staff that supports the large client base and is instrumental in new radiologist implementation, protocol development and client training on subspecialty protocols for CT and MRI. F&S is on the cutting edge of the technological advances across all modalities. The experience at F&S has allowed his 25+ years of radiology knowledge to expand into IT from image management, wide and local area networking to VPN configuration.
Carrie Ellis
I am a senior account manager for Aureus Medical Group. My daily activities include helping allied healthcare professionals, hospitals, and medical facilities achieve their goals. I have been in the staffing industry for eight years and was recognized as a "Recruiter of the Year" in 2004 by a national publication for traveling healthcare professionals. I pride myself on the trust that I build with all the people I come into contact with and the ability to develop strong relationships. I am generous in sharing my knowledge and listening to the needs of our client facilities and our employees working in the field. I provide advice to healthcare professionals inquiring about a career in travel or direct-hire opportunities, as well as offering resources and advice to facilities on how to achieve their patient care objectives.
Julie K. Irving, RT(R)(M)(CT)
Julie K. Irving, RT(R)(M)(CT), founded the company in 2000. She loves the many aspects of radiology and decided to open the company because she felt she could use her knowledge and experience to assist other technologists and medical facilities with staffing issues. Julie's background also includes working in positions where she has trained technologists, directly supervised staff in clinical settings, and consulted for Radiology departments. She has also worked as a traveling technologist. Ms. Irving can be reached directly at Julie@xrayz4u.com.
Brad Karsh
Brad Karsh is president and founder of JobBound, a company dedicated to helping students and professionals get a great job and exceed in the workplace. Matthew Lauderbaugh
I currently work as a senior healthcare recruiter for Clinical One. My core focus in this role is assisting radiology professionals with their job search for full time, permanent employment and also helping hospitals find qualified staff. I handle both types of searches on a national basis and absolutely love my job and the people that I work with. I started working with Clinical One as a recruitment specialist in 2003 and was responsible for recruiting all types of allied health professionals, but I quickly centered my career in helping radiology professionals.

Radiology Students

Robin Aaron
I am a radiography student, and I am currently employed as a medical secretary at a medical imaging center. I work closely with doctors, patients, and the MRI technologists to ensure that patients are safe and that the proper studies are scheduled. My goals are to obtain (and retain) everything I can throughout this program so that after taking the radiography boards, I will be certified with the ARRT in radiography. I will possibly go on to obtain my MRI certification.
