How/why did you get into your particular field?
Prior to starting JobBound, I spent 15 years at Leo Burnett in Chicago. I began my career in account management, but then I moved into HR. As VP/director of talent acquisition, I was responsible for the agency's hiring. With 10+ years of recruiting experience, I read more than 10,000 resumes and interviewed more than 1,000 people.

The inspiration for my business was the sorry state of job search preparation. When I was VP/director of talent acquisition, I was constantly amazed by how poor resumes were and how so many people lacked basic interviewing skills. Recognizing the tremendous need for job search expertise, I started JobBound in 2002.

What are your greatest professional accomplishments thus far?
I never would have dreamed I would be an entrepreneur, so I take great pride in my thriving and growing business. I am always proud to see my book, Confessions of a Recruiting Director: The Insider's Guide to Landing Your First Job on the shelves in Barnes & Noble, as well.

What are your professional goals for the future?
I plan to continue connecting job seekers with the best, expert advice and giving educational programs across the nation so students and professionals can reach their career aspirations.
