The new software – the first to allow the seamless integration of CCD, CR, and flat-panel components – offers intuitive graphical workflow from patient entry through exam planning and image analysis.

With integrated generator and detector control, the software features touch-screen operation, professional image viewer, multimedia exam positioning guide, integrated HIS/RIS communication, and CR reader control.

It also includes comprehensive measurement packages and DICOM 3.0 worklist query, store, and send functions, as well as the ability to record macros for frequently repeated exams.

Breast MRI System

North Andover, Mass.-based Aurora Imaging Technology Inc. announces that the Aurora® 1.5 Tesla Dedicated Breast MRI System has received 501(k) clearance from the U.S. FDA for AuroraSpectroscopy™, the company’s breast MR spectroscopy package.

The availability of AuroraSpectroscopy will provide Aurora Breast MRI the capability to perform in vivo breast MR spectroscopy and MR spectroscopic imaging. AuroraSpectroscopy was developed to supplement Aurora Breast MRI by further improving the image specificity of this technology.

The Aurora Breast MRI remains the only FDA-cleared dedicated breast MRI system specifically designed for the detection, diagnosis, and management of breast disease alone.

Defibrillator Accessory

Cleveland-based Fluke Biomedical announced submission to the U.S. FDA for 510(k) clearance for the only product available today to test defibrillators beyond 175 ohms, the Impulse 7010 Defibrillator Selectable Load Accessory.

In conjunction with the already-available new Impulse 7000DP Defibrillator/External Pacer Analyzer, the expected release of the Impulse 7010 supports defibrillator performance through the spectrum of patient impedances. 

The Impulse 7010 Selectable Defibrillator Load provides multiple loads of 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, and 200 ohms for testing defibrillators. In conjunction with an Impulse 7000DP Defibrillator Analyzer, it is designed for performance testing of defibrillators; it is not intended for the calibration of medical equipment.

White LCD Monitor

Beaverton, Ore.-based Planar Systems Inc. announced that its line of PL flat-panel LCD monitors and PT touchscreens are now available in white. Planar’s white LCD and touchscreen monitors are suitable solutions for integrators in industries where environmental ambiance affects consumer attitude, purchasing decision, and business/brand loyalty. 

The addition of white monitors to the PL and PT lines is designed to improve and enhance end-user interface by enabling customers to match their LCDs and touchscreens with current white computer systems, such as Apple Macs.

The PT line features a five-wire resistive touchscreen and dual serial/USB touch interface in 15-, 17- and 19-inch standard 4:3 sizes.
